Future Electronics

Pickering provided a full-time resident engineer and construction administration services for a new Future Electronics specialty distribution center Southaven, MS. The project included a 250,000 SF first floor and an 80,000 SF mezzanine. The construction administration services were for 40 hours per week for a period of eight months.

The scope of services included:

  • Act as Future Electronics' primary point of contact with the general contractor.
  • Inspect construction periodically for compliance with contract documents and approved shop drawings.
  • Document construction progress with weekly reports and photographs
  • Issue bi-weekly progress report including any schedule revisions to Owner.
  • Coordinate field and laboratory testing performed if these services are under direct contract with the Owner.
  • Review test results for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review and coordinate issuance of Owner-generated purchase orders for construction materials.
  • Meet weekly with contractor and his subcontractors to review work schedule and verify proper coordination by the general contractor. Advise Owner of actual or potential delays.
  • Monitor all correspondence including proper shop drawing, submittals and approvals.
  • Review, modify and/or recommend approval of contractor applications for payment as determined by project status and acceptability of work in place.
  • Coordinate resolution of construction related problems involving the Owner, designer or regulatory agency when appropriate.
  • Review and administer proposed Owner generated change orders. Provide input as to cost, need, constructability and schedule impact.
  • Coordinate receipt and delivery to contractor of Owner supplied furnishings, fixtures and equipment.
  • Coordinate system start-ups and check outs.
  • Coordinate and lead final inspection and acceptance tests.
  • Receive all system operations and maintenance manuals from the contractors and provide to the Owner.
  • Monitor completion of Final Punch list items.
