Trex Company, Inc., based in Winchester, Virginia, is the nation's largest manufacturer of alternative decking products, made from reclaimed wood and recycled plastic. In July 2004, Pickering began design of a new manufacturing plant for Trex in the Olive Branch, Mississippi Industrial Park. Pickering was responsible for all building design and civil design for the 100-acre site, as well as construction administration for five buildings in the initial phase. The five buildings represent approximately 300,000 square feet of mixed-use specialty construction. Pickering performed all equipment layout and procurement analysis, and supervised installation and startup of the manufacturing equipment. Pickering was selected for the task because of its 'one source' capability in site design, facility design, and system integration.
