NUCOR Steel
Pickering was selected to perform ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey of the property (owned by the Port Authority) adjacent to the Memphis Nucor Steel Plant. This property was needed by Nucor for expansion of their existing plant.
Pickering is working closely with NUCOR's legal staff to resolve questions concerning various easements encumbering the subject property. Pickering is also performing surveys of adjacent property near the Mississippi River for easement purposes.
Tasks performed by our survey team are as follows:
- Establishing/re-marking some of the property corners of the original plant site.
- Performing a limited utility survey within the plant area.
- Performing as-built /topographical surveys of various areas within the plant area for design purposes.
- Performing as-built surveys inside some of the buildings for design purposes.
- Set several control monuments on the plant grid coordinate system at strategic locations all over the plant for Pickering and contractor's survey teams to use for construction staking purposes.
- Performing construction stake-out tasks for various items such as railroad tracks, column foundations, building corners, driveways, parking areas, and other site facilities.
- Performing utility corridor survey from NUCOR property line to nearby Tennessee Valley Authority electric substation at the Allen Steam Plant. This survey consisted of a boundary survey for easement purposes and a topographical survey for design purposes.
