Star Landing Road/CNIC Railroad Grade Separation
Pickering provided design services for an underpass on Star Landing Road at the CN/IC Railroad crossing in DeSoto County, Mississippi. This new four-lane underpass replaces an existing one-lane underpass on the county road.
Project included the design and construction of a ¾ mile temporary "shoo-fly" track to allow uninterrupted rail traffic while the permanent track was reconstructed to accommodate the new roadway. The reconstruction of the permanent track involved a grade change of ten feet and the installation of two bridges.
This new underpass provides a safer and more efficient route for the rapidly growing DeSoto County.
Services include:
- Survey
- Design of the Relocated Railroad Section
- Design of the Underpass Bridge
- Bridge Plans
- Geotechnical Investigations
- Construction Administration
The new structure was designed to accommodate the future development of Star Landing Road.
