Gulf Region Infrastructure Implementation, Task 3
This project involves the development of conceptual design documents for twenty-eight water and wastewater infrastructure projects distributed between Hancock, Jackson, and Pearl River counties in southern Mississippi. The infrastructure projects comprising this work were identified in the Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Plan as necessary to the redevelopment of the Mississippi Gulf Coast region.
Work under this project includes:
- Review of available data on existing water and wastewater facilities as they relate to projects identified in the Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Plan.
- Discussion of operational and system component issues with local management and operations staff, as well as, regulatory agencies.
- Analysis of the proposed project service area and the projected user demand.
- Review of available processes to address project requirements, preliminary sizing and siting of project components including water supply wells, elevated water storage tanks, and wastewater treatment systems.
- Preliminary and alternative route determination of pipelines for transport of potable water and wastewater.
