Scope:
Pickering is currently leading a team of six consultants in a major project to control flooding in the Jackson, MS metro area. This unique approach to flood control involves the creation of at least one large lake, in addition to the construction of new levees and restructuring of those already in existence. The opportunity to enhance "quality of life" is a focal point of this project. By adding new green space areas, recreational opportunities, environmental restoration, economic development, and revitalization of depressed areas in the community, this project will have a positive and lasting impact on the Jackson Metropolitan area.
