West Rankin Metropolitan Sewer Authority

West Rankin Sewer Authority The West Rankin Metropolitan Sewer Authority (WRMSA) has maintained financial responsibility for the conveyance system, which transports wastewater from western Rankin County to the City of Jackson's Savanna St. Waster Water Treatment Plant. Escalating costs, in part resulting from aging pipe lines installed in the 1970's, along with population growth and economic expansion, are resulting in considerable infrastructure needs. This project addressed these needs and included:

The major elements of the project will be to (1) conduct a video and sonic inspection of the existing conveyance system along with flow measurements over a 60 day period at select metering stations, (2) provide advance planning and preliminary design of a 15 million gallon per day (MGD) wastewater treatment plant, (3) conduct an investigation into the technical and economic feasibility of establishing an alternate, regional water supply system West Rankin County, and (4) update the Draft 2000 West Rankin Facility Plan to reflect the latest census data and findings of the sewer system evaluation performed as part of this project.
